American Girls

My summer intern, Jordan, gave Mary Frances EIGHT American Girl dolls that belonged to her and her sisters. We were so excited to go through all of the clothes and dolls. We decided to keep the original girls and give away the duplicates or special occasion girls.

Jessie got Mary Frances started on the American Girls last year by giving her Molly, Jessie's doll from when she was little. It is important to Jessie that Mary Frances keeps her in original clothes and learns about the history behind her.

So, that is how we came to our decision to only keep the originals. Mary Frances and I agreed that she did not need all of the dolls. So, she is giving away the 4 she did not keep. Then, we will have an American Girl party with our friends who have them and learn more about each of the dolls and how to care for them
Look at all of those dolls! We forgot to get the Molly that Mary Frances already had for the picture! Oh well!

Boys and Baseball

Some friends invited us to the Astros game on Saturday. So, we decided it would be fun for the boys to go and the girls to hang out at the house! The boys had a blast. They each got an Astros blanket when they walked in the gates along with a ball.

Mary Frances and I curled up on the couch and watched The American Girl movie. It was so much fun! Do you know how long I have been wanting to curl up and watch a movie in the middle of the day on Saturday? I didn't have to get up for anything!

The movie was great, too. We learned a lot about the depression and how it affected people - rich and poor! Later we went to the grocery store to get my freebies and the rest of the list. Then, we ate dinner, showered, and curled up in my bed to watch some of The Princess Diaries! We didn't get to watch the whole thing. So, Mary Frances is still waiting to see the Princess in her gown!

A trip to the American Girl cafe is not for sissies!! We spent HOURS there. Our original Molly (20 years old) had her hair done, bought a new outfit, and joined us for a very girly lunch!
